Second order difference equations for certain families of discrete polynomials
In this paper we will consider two algorithms which allow us to obtain second order linear di erence equations for certain families of polynomials. The corresponding algorithms can be implemented in any computer algebra system in order to obtain explicit expressions of the coe cients of the di erence equations.Dirección General de Enseñanza Superio
On characterizations of classical polynomials
It is well known that the classical families of Jacobi, Laguerre, Hermite, and Bessel polynomials are characterized as eigenvectors of a second order linear differential operator with polynomial coefficients, Rodrigues formula, etc. In this paper we present an unified study of the classical discrete polynomials and q-polynomials of the q-Hahn tableau by using the difference calculus on linear-type lattices. We obtain in a straightforward way several characterization theorems for the classical discrete and q-polynomials of the q-Hahn tableau. Finally, a detailed discussion of the Marcelln et. al. characterization is presented
Recurrence relations for connection coefficients between q-orthogonal polynomials of discrete variables in the non-uniform lattice X(s) = q2s
We obtain the structure relations for q-orthogonal polynomials in the exponential lattice q 2s and from that we construct the recurrence relation for the connection coe cients between two families of polynomials belonging to the classical class of discrete q-orthogonal polynomials. An explicit example is also given.Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnologí
The dual Hahn q-polynomials in the lattice x(s) = [s]q[s + 1] q and the q-Algebras SUq(2) and SUq(1; 1)
The dual q-Hahn polynomials in the non uniform lattice x(s) = [s]q[s + 1]q are
obtained. The main data for these polynomials are calculated ( the square of the norm the coe cients of the three term recurrence relation, etc), as well as its representation as a q-hypergeometric series. The connection with the Clebsch-Gordan Coe cients of the Quantum Algebras SUq (2) and SUq (1; 1) is also given.Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y TecnologíaInstituto de Física (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México)Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (México
On the limit of non-standard q-Racah polynomials
The aim of this article is to study the limit transitions from non-standard q-Racah polynomials to big q-Jacobi, dual q-Hahn, and q-Hahn polynomials such that the orthogonality properties and the three-term recurrence relations remain valid.Ministerio de Economía y CompetitividadJunta de AndalucíaFondo Europeo de Desarrollo RegionalScientific and Technological Research Council of Turke
A characterization of the classical orthogonal discrete and q-polynomials
In this paper we present a new characterization for the classical discrete and q-classical (discrete) polynomials (in the Hahn's sense).Ministerio de Ciencia y TecnologíaDiputación General de AragónJunta de Andalucí
